So today we're supposed to blog a bit about a memorable birthday. All birthdays are special around here...we love to celebrate together. Because my birthday is on kind of an awkward date (July 5), we sometimes end up doing unusual things. Last year, the 4th of July parade we always go to just happened to be on the 5th...so of course we went! It was a blast, even though it did rain for much of the parade. To me, the most important part of all is being with family. :)

Yay, Happy Thursday everyone! Tonight is my little guy's last soccer game of the season. We're honestly a bit glad for it to be over, but we know he'll miss it. Spring will be here soon enough. Tomorrow is another exciting day...his class Halloween party and then the super exciting APP game. We have no clue what to expect except total craziness from the crowd! It's going to be a great few days!

Black Saturday!!!

What a week for football!

Today is Black Saturday at The Rock. That means 30,000+ people will come out in black, scream, yell, party, and have a blast cheering on our Apps. Today's Black Saturday contest brings Furman to Boone. They will be decked out in all their purpleness...intimidating? I think not. We're heading up to do some tailgating before the game...then we will file in with everyone else and spend the afternoon watching (hopefully) a great game. Now, we need the rain to hold off and the temps to come up just a tad. Fun stuff!

Tonight we have a fall carnival to go to...as much fun as the game? No. Will we go to keep the kids happy? Of course.

Saturdays are also super fun because it's New Release day at Sweet Shoppe!!! My designers have some super goodies this week.

Darcy, as usual, has outdone herself on the fonts. Love, Granny is one of my new all time faves, and Writes A Lot is a super font for all layouts. If you get them today, they're 20% off!!!

Bree was a busy lady this week. She came out with not 1, but 4 new products! Wow!!! All of these calendar goodies are the perfect way to start your custom Christmas gifts for your family and friends. These are just awesomeness.

Thinking Thursday and More

Yesterday was just a crazy day. Good, bad, and all in between. One of those that starts off poorly, but ends on a high note. So, I'm going to only share the good stuff!!! We took the kids bowling for the first time ever. They were so funny! We were shocked that they had shoes small enough for Caroline, but they about did! They were a tad big, but just adorable. Ryan loved it, but the ball was still heavy for him. Caroline wasn't so into the bowling part, but loved watching the ball roll down the lane. All in all, it was a huge success.
(PS. As usual, the photos aren't edited yet!)

So after bowling, we went to do putt-putt. That was also a huge hit with the kids! Caroline said over and over, "I love you, red ball!" They enjoyed running around on the course more than actually trying to play, but it was just a great time.

So, on another note, yesterday I saw something pretty cool!!! One of my LOs was on the Sweet Shoppe Blog!!! Bree Clarkson did Workin' It Wednesday for the blog and she used one of my LOs to showcase how to make templates work in any size. Check it out HERE. I was pretty excited!!!

Speaking of SSD, both Bree and Penny have some awesome stuff coming this Saturday! I'm not going to share any layouts quite yet, but be looking for them tomorrow!

On the SS blog today is the latest FOB2Y...the question is… "what is YOUR favorite fast food and how often do you eat there?" Hmm...I'm not a fast food fan. I suppose Wendy's, just because the kids like it. We go once a week, probably. Some weeks more, some not at all. It just depends on what's going on.

My friend Lou asked a group of us to do a Thinking Thursday kind of post...and ask a thought provoking question at the end. Since I couldn't come up with anything on my own, I chose one of my favorite quotes by Carrie on Sex and the City: "Can you make a mistake and miss your fate?" Now, if that's not thought provoking, I don't know what is.

Weekend

Yesterday we went to the ASU game (of course). Check out that sky. Yep, it rained, it poured...it was cold and wet. Still, we had tons of fun. The construction is coming along and it will be nice next year, especially if we get seats under the new covered area. One can dream. Big attendance again, with close to 30K yesterday. Good game with a final score of 48-14. Go APPS!
